I would Not say MRG because the tree runs are torn up by 10 am. They have great tree runs but too many people ski them there.

That said I'll go with stowe or Jay in North VT. and South VT Majic and Bromley

Your High I cut most of those trails in the late 90's Before Glade skiing opend in the east coast.

I don't know much about the "history of glade skiing"... But I know Jay started out with StateSide and Bonaventure Glade around 1990... There was a glade also in Stowe in the mid-80s... first time i visited the ski area... And Sutton in the eastern township is all about tree skiing even in the 60-70s... I wasn't born... but my parents tell great stories from those times on the slopes!

Sorry :-( I felt bad. After the first post I thought s/he was just egging you on. Then it seemed like s/he thought you actually were serious. And I just couldn't sit around while such deception was going on :)

deception was the only purpose of the thread....

Stratton Dose have good trees but not even Close to stowe or Jay.

Both Outrage and Double Diamond at Okemo existed back when I first skied there in 1984. I understand the growth in popularity of named glades on trail maps in the 90's, but glade skiing existed long prior to that in New England.

I'll be more careful next time. It was amusing to throw out completely wrong answers with everyone knowing it was a joke...meaning I assumed everyone would know that I don't actually think Mountain Creek has the best glades :)

I bet some of those DH MTB trails ski pretty nice with a foot of dense fresh.....

Weak-ass attempt at deception! But thanks for having my back. Besides, nobody really takes JD seriously, do they?

Try skiing mid-week. And get to know the mountain a little better. :p

Depends what type of trees your are looking for and if you factor in typical conditions and how frequently you can ski the good stuff. Jay has superior dependability and excellent open glades with lots of low angle stuff so their glades are almost always open from early to late season. Not very challenging trees though. Plenty of powder though.

Mad River has some insanely good trees with lots of terrain obstacles. Stowe is of course up there as well.

Some of my favorite trees are at Cannon of all places. Not skiable for a good part of the year... but when it is good, it is really good. And insanely tough. Returning to Cannon last year, I realized skiing Cannon all those years helped toughen me up. Jay has allowed me to loosen up my technique and get sloppy at times. Always nice heading into trees that can still kick your butt.

Jay's inbounds stuff dosen't do it for me once a certain amount of traffic get's in there. But I love dip runs, big and little J. MRG trees are a totally different flavor. Stowe I know better then any other area and I haven't seen anything like the lines I know there. Stuff off Big J definitely has the potential, I just don't know it weel enough to ski it with the same flow.

It's a tough choice to pick either Yawgoo Valley or Ski Ward for the best tree skiing in the east.

I hear that Titicomb has some extreme tree skiing.

I can't believe it took until the 3rd page to mention both Stowe and Jay.
