The pipes are supposedly still in good shape. I have read that the pumps were sold. The developer is selling a pipe dream (around 700 units planned) to the town of Tupper Lake and an open BT is just part of the dream.

Anybody want to invest hard earned dollars for a slope side townhouse at a remote, small to medium sized Eastern ski area with zero snowmaking and 2 old doubles that each serve 600 vertical feet?

After reading all of this, especially about the chairlift sliding backwards, I think I'll shelve my plans. Thanks for all the input.

Crazy. Invest in the mountain first. Real estate later. Ski Area development 101.

Instead of making Big Tupper the first item to fix, the developer's plan is vague on the time frame for making the mountain truly operational. The developer has no money and the only potential source for this highly speculative development is the local NYS industrial development authority. It is easier to get to Gore from all population centers in the US and the slight chance that Canadians might be interested in such a small mountain (they were never interested before) has disappeared as the Canadian dollar is worth .80US dollar today.

This plan plays right into the fears of the dying Village of Tupper Lake. People are desperate for jobs and are hopeful that this will help the Village. They are sadly mistaken.

I would think the pipes were not sold? Were the pumps sold or just the actual guns?

Water Pumps, Compressors, guns, Hydrants, electrical transformers, basically anything they could remove. They even stripped the Wiring off the hill that was used for the fanjet guns. Totally cannibalized. The pipes are still on the hill though.
