I'd like to hear about where the in-bound glades are at Bolton Valley. I'm bringing my kids there in two weeks. We've always skied the groomers because we didn't know where to find the woods and we just got too busy. My girls are game for the woods and seem to enjoy it more than the groomers. Mid or lower pitch is what we would be looking for. Thanks.

I was at Bolton yesterday for my first day there ever. I was skiing with my brother, his 10 y.o. daughter and my 5 y.o. My brother and my neice went into some of the marked glades. The snow (before last night's rain) was amazing. Soft, fluffy and lots of it. The woods/glades at Bolton looked amazing. There were tracks heading in and out of the trees all over the mtn. Bolton was a great place for families and kids. My only complaint was the lifts seemed very slow and the lines (considering it was a holiday weekend, there weren't that many people on the hill at all!) were disorganized. Even the quad seemed to run slow for a fixed grip lift. (This coming from a guy who usually enjoys fixed gripped lifts). Great place, I'll go again if I'm in the area skiing with my girls. Otherwise, given the location personally I'd opt for a more challenging hill, (ie. MRG, Bush, Stowe or Jay).

Took the family to Bolton yesterday. the best off-piste skiing was the unmarked woods. Where? Absolutely everywhere in the Wilderness and Vista. We made new lines into all sorts of places, so many I lost track of them all. The glades at the top of the Vista quad were too scratchy for my liking (with all the pow, this is not an "ordinary" year and thus I am a spoiled-brat-powder-lover). Pow was every where with lots and lots of places for new tracks.
