Has anyone heard anything about Bolton Valley either being sold or having "financial challenges"?

For many years and several owners Bolton has been in financial dificulties. The latest ownership seems to have things on the upswing. Was there last weekend. Not as good condiitons as the Bush or Stowe but still busy.

Here is a recent article. http://www.firsttracksonline.com/news/stories/114245143072344.shtm

Good article, but they completely forgot about the Homer Fitts/Peter Glenn crew that ran the place from 1999 or so until 2002. They did a decent job. Dwinell was earlier than that...I think he may have done one or two seasons at most. It sat dormant for one season.

I thought the place had the best conditions of the past weekend, certainly better than the limited amount of skiing that I did at Stowe on saturday night even with 4" of new snow. They only had 22 trails open on friday with a snowmaking base to be sure, but the skiing after a foot of powder on sunday was fantastic and the best of the year for me.

The place did get buzier on sunday afternoon as we where leaving, but the facilities looked to be in good shape and what you would expect from a family oriented ski area.
I guess that like alot of other places, they are hurting from this winter, but I think they will be okay.

We hope to ski there again next season, Warren had a blast.

I thought I would add the fact that I was interested in lodging there this weekend, but according to the reservations system they are completely booked up, that has to be a good sign if you ask me.

The place was PACKED with kids on friday night.

yeah, felt kinda sorry for that Dwinell kid as I think he had good intentions with daddy's money thru the bank but the NYC lawyers who owned the base lodge screwed him to the wall.

And WHO would buy JUST the base lodge of the ski area without the intent of screwing with the new owner(s)?

Didn't someone also own the trademark/name? Hence, "Bolt'n in Vermont?"
