Area skied: Bolton Valley Resort

Date skied: March 17th, 2006 (6:45pm - 8:30pm)

Surface conditions: packed powder, loose powder (trail edges) icy patches.

After a nice leisurly 370 mile drive, it was time to end the day with some night skiing at Bolton with my son.

We started out with a run down Shermans Pass which is a long green trail with a fairly flat pitch, the trail had powder along the edges and it was about 6" deep and very light.

I took one run alone down Sillway which is a black rated trail and it had alot of exposed icy areas from the rain/wind from this week and was kind of scary to ski. This made me wonder what other areas that did not get snow are like.

We skied the terrain park which had huge hits and good snow. This must be a family place because it was packed with kids tonight.

The weather was clear with a temperature of 16F at the base. Winds where really strong near the immediate summit.

There is NO snowcover along I-91 in Vermont until the I-89 merge. We are off to ski Jay on saturday, time for some sleep now.
