Trip Report:

Went to Bretton Woods on Friday for a half day or so. Snow report said 6 trails but was really 2ish. They had one trail off the Bethlahem Quad and the learning slope was open. Conditions were ok. There were a bunch of ski teams from other mountains practicing on the trail so in some areas it was skied off pretty early. They had picked up about 5 or 6 inches on Thursday and they had the guns going while I was there so it should get better. There was not a big crowd there, but because everyone was on the same trail it was crowded at times. Lots of kids playing hooky that day. Seems as if the ski teams were having coaching discussions all over the place. Note: They should do these at the side of the trail, oh well. All in all it was a good start to the season.

Too many people for too little terrain is such a big problem. I've seen race programs trying to train at Sugarbush when there is just not enough terrain open for everyone and it is a disaster. As to the other comment about race teams being inconsiderate about space, I've seen it before...nothing new regrettably.
