went to burke's sherburne lodge yesterday after work. wow, the place looks great. REALLY great. definitely seems like i might base out of the sherburne instead of driving up to mid-burke with the new HSQ in the future.

i stopped by the season pass office. i had not picked up my pass and went in thinking the worst. i had expected a partial refund or perhaps pushing my dollars spent to next year. i partially expected a flat out denial which i likely would not be able to get enough days to justify the pass cost.

but after hearing about my broken elbow, i was offered a full refund no questions asked. might have beeb different if i had already picked up my pass or it was later in the season. but considering the mountain was already open and the pass was paid for last may, i was impressed and thankful for the no hassle full return. not sure if i would have gotten the same service from the big corporate resorts and thought it was worth pointong out that ginn resorts have not changed great service.

as an aside, one of burke ski school folks saw my arm as i was leaving and immediately struck up a conversation with me showing concern and sharing some sympathy for my situation. ginn resorts also has not changed the fact that some of the nicest and friendliest people in the industry work and ski at burke.

i'll be back at burke in march for some day trips and can't wait.

That kind of service generates strong customer loyalty. Don't think I've ever read a negative comment about Burke. Hopefully we'll get up there this year.

 Full out refund? That's unheard of in the industry!

Wow. They weren't lying when they said great customer service.

This doesn't surprise me at all from my experiences with the new owners to date. Several of us went to the new restaurant and recieved 'complementary' bottles of wine when the original wine we selected was not in stock yet. The general scuttlebutt is that no expense is being spared, let's just hope people don't take advantage of them.

That's good business....

....and here's hundreds of sets of dedicated skier eyes seeing and hearing about their excellent and beyond the call of duty attitude. That kind of quality advertising can't be bought, and they will benefit many-fold over the cost of your pass and the wine bottles. Smart folks....nice folks. Well done.

Extremely rare to see this...now I'm intrigued by the place.

Guess I'll have to add it to the short list for this season.

Hard to believe that customer service like that can be found these days. Especially at a ski resort.

The only time I made it up to Burke was about13 years ago and I didn't get a chance to ski. Sprained my ankle in the condo the first night we got there. Long story. Alcohol was involved.

After hearing about this type of service, I'll have to make plans to get there this year.
