For all of you who are tired of lift lines and crowded trails, Burke has a new guarantee. If you wait in a lift line for 5 minutes or longer, they will give you $10.00 off of your next lift ticket.

It will work like this: no one will even be watching the clock because it has never happened.Interesting, wonder how that'll work.....someone stationed at all the lift timing everyone??
wow... when you guys said that burke had non-existent lift lines, you must not have been kidding.
That's pretty cool.
Makes me want to check the place out even more.
Hopefully i can make it work this year.

Its amazing, Burke is only 3 hours from Boston, all highway driving, 220-250" of natural, 2,000 feet of vertical, trails with lots of character, some of the best glades in the NE. And never crowded.
Drive times never include traffic or which part of the city you live in. It is a point of reference that you can then factor in your individual location/conditions. Same with every other mountain out there that claims drive times from metro. Boston to Burke with no traffic is 3 hours and is less than all resorts in ME and most resorts in VT.This 3h driving time is a bit optimistic. Perhaps, if measured from the the northern most boundry and optimal traffic/travel conditions. I live in the southern parts of Boston and have to negotioate the SE Experessway before I clear the city.
The more realistic drive time estimate is at least 3.5 h +
Having said that, there are times that this drive time is worth the effort, even for a day trip. Burke is a gem.
Before the new HSQ was put in and the before that base area was revised, most folks drove up to mid-Burke so there still would not have been a line at the old double. Not many folks started down there before the HSQ and revised lodge.I have skied burke on a holiday and didn't wait 5 minutes, maybe just after lunch with the old lower lift situation you could have waited that long, but now that the lift at the bottom has been changed things are better

How much further once you get past Cannon? That's the hard part ... to keep driving.
1 hour for Burke. Maybe 20 minutes for BW? A little longer with the storm though. If Cannon is not running the lifts, you'll keep driving whether you like it or not I would bet!![]()
Even if the quad goes down (rarely does), they still have the poma. Always a good option when the winds pick up.Ha yeah. Thinking if I make good time up tomorrow, maybe I'll push on. Is Burke pretty wind resistant?
