Most people can remember every car they've owned. I bet I'm not alone in that I can remember all the skis I've owned, what size they were and the approximate years I got them. For whatever reason, ski equipment has always registered in my mind the same way that cars have over the years.

Cheap used 140cm Fischers' - started skiing in 1982 and skied these for 2 seasons.
Kazama- 155 cm - first new to me skis in 1984. Fond memories of my dad buying these skis for me at Strands ski shop in Worcester just before Christmas. For those who don't remember Kazama, they had 5 holes in the tips based on a theory that the holes would let air travel through and make the skis faster.
Rossignol - 165 cm (3S? Gray with Black Stripes) 1986
Burton Elite 150 snowboard complete with split tale and metal fin on the bottom because snowboarding was the new cool sport and I had to try it.
Dynamic VR27 175 cm 1987
Rossignol 4M 185 cm 1989
Rossignol 4S 200 cm 1991
Rossignol 7G 207 cm 1992
Salomon 3S 197 cm 1993 - got these because Plake was skiing them, one of the 1st Salomon skis and and all new foam core and cap design - broke two pairs that season
Salomon 4S 204 cm 1994 - same design as the 3s only longer turning - broke two pairs of these too.
Dynamic VR 27 - 195 & 200CM 1996 both these skis were a few years old, but unwrapped and new; bought at Ocean State Job Lot on Cape Cod before I went to UVM. These were what I skied throughout college.
Rossignol Axiom 184 cm - 2000 - one of the first true powder skis - 110 under foot - I still haven't retired these skis and rode them a few times this season.
Rossignol Bandit 1X - 185 cm - 2002
Roggignol B2 174cm - 2006
Rossignol BX 176cm - 2007
Volkl P40 188cm skis - 2008 - early 2000s ski. My dad's last set of skis that he only rode a few times. They were in his attic in Florida and after hearing me bitch about my Rossi's sucking on ice, he mailed them to me. Skied them a few times. Still got them for nostalgia / memories of skiing with my dad as a kid.
Fischer Motive 84 175 cm 2011 - still my daily driving hard snow ski
High Society FreeRide 179 cm 2011 - only set of skis I've never liked.
Nordica Vagabond 177 cm 2014 - new Powder ski to finally replace my old Axioms.

I actually still have all 10 pairs of skis I've owned dating back to 1996. When I get around to it, I plan on turning the 8 retired pairs into some kind of lawn furniture.

So, can you remember your life's ski/board quiver?
Yes. every pair. Back during the COVID 19 shutdowns lists were my thing, what skis, what concerts, 10 favorite albums etc.
1964-? short wood skis, w/ no edges, that my dad painted dark blue for me, w/ Kandahar style cable bindings
1966/67 165cm Kazama's (no idea on model) w/ Cubco standard bindings
1972/73 Hart Knight 195cm w/Salomon 505 bindings
1974/75 190cm Dynastar S730 Freestyle w/ the Salomon 505 Bindings, later replaced w/ 555 Equipe
76-78 Century -160cm Spademan bindings, they were yellow, maybe Half-Century or Century 2 (for freestyle ballet)
76-78 Blizzard 170cm Green diamond pattern, maybe Wizzard (for freestyle ballet) don't remember bindings.
76-78 Olin Mark IV 180cm Salomon 555 Equipe (used for all round freestyle)
1980 Hexcel Comps 200cm Salomon 555 Equipe bindings
K2 810 Comp 205cm Tyrolia bindings, unknown model (traded Olin's sans bindings which I installed on Dynastar's)
1983/84 Dynastar Omeglass II Equipe 203cm Marker M40 Race bindings ("Limited Production Model"), which I got with a pair of orange Lange XLR ski boots in a trade for the Hexcel's.

Currant Quiver:
2018/19 Nordica 185's w/ Marker Griffin bindings
2021/22 Nordica Dobermann 80R w/Marker Griffin bindings
2023/24 Peak 88 w/ Marker Griffin bindings
2023/24 Peak 110 by Bode w/ Salomon Stance bindings

Just for Dept.
.................................................................
Skis that I really wanted back in the day:
Rossignol ROC 550 from reviews, testing and race results this was one of the very best skis at the time.
Dynastar MV2 ditto above plus my hero Airborne Eddie Ferguson skied on them.
Hart Comp-a number of freestyle skiers and racers used them
Hart Freestyle-see above
Hexcel-Hexcelerator's besides the cool name and graphics, all reports were that it was a hot ski
Hexcel-Hexcel Comp's-ever since I had a chance to ski a few runs on a pair (finally got a pair 4-5 years later)
Dynastar Omeglass-another hot Dynastar ski

Ski Boots I wanted:
Nordica "Banana's
Raichle Comp's
Hanson Exhibition

Between Alpine, Telemark and Snowboards, the answer is no. I do wonder how many skis/snowboards I destroyed over the years. I figure at least 40?

I'm fairly certain I have forgotten many skis as my memory is not that good. I definitely can remember Every pair of ski boots. (5 pairs of boots going back to 1984)

1st paid: early 1970's - wood skis, leather lace up boots bear trap bindings ,.. no idea the brand. I distinctly remember "polishing" the edges with my Dad in our garage with steel wool!
2nd pair: Used skis (no idea of the brand) bought them at Ski Town USA - I remember being so excited as they had step in bindings!
3rd pair: hand me downs from my day - Rossi Stratos
4th pair: early 1980's used Olin Mark VI (???? They were green)
5th Pair 1984 White Olin Mark VI 205's - my first pair of brand new skis,... I bought them myself for part time job money

7: 1987: Rossi 3G (teal green) 205's
8: 1988: Atomic SL's 205 (Blue)
10: 1990 Rossie 3G 205
11: Full time switch to Teli 1996 Atomic Teli Skis
12: 1998 Rossi Teli Skis
