I the words of Tony Soprano:

Wuddyagonndo?

I've been to Cannon plenty and find the tram to be primarily a novelty. That being said, I usually park at that lodge. Usually it's a short trek to the lodge and has a great old-school feel to it. If they save enough to make a difference to the mountain, that's fine.

I agree with the vast and overwhelming majority of people who have replied so far. I rarely use the tram except first tracks on a powder day preferring to park and base out of Peabody and utilize the Cannonball whenever I want to access the summit. Most days I never get over to the tram and generally only use it as a matter of convenience after I am done skiing Zoomer and want to get some place else if I know there is no wait for the tram.

That said, as has been pointed out before, this board of folks is hardly representative of the general skiing population. What do you think Joe Average Skier makes of this? Do you think this will negatively effect Cannon in any way? Do you think mid-week vacationers and the retirement crowd and any other Joe Average Skier that hits Cannon mid-week will be unhappy with this? Definitely a sound operational and financial decision, what I wonder about is general public reaction, not the regular skier reaction that hardly uses the tram.

I wonder if they will close Tramline and Kinsman Glade when it has skiable conditions on Monday and Friday. I suppose you could still use the Zoomer lift but it would be a little inconvienient. I also wonder if they will open the Tram Lodge on those days. If they are looking to cut costs, that could be part of thier strategy.
