LUDLOW, Vermont -– Okemo Mountain Resort is making an encore offer for all skiers and riders to help local families in need and earn a discounted lift ticket at the same time. On Sunday, December 10, when skiers and riders donate at least three non-perishable food items, a new child's toy or a new clothing item, their generosity will be rewarded with an entire day of skiing and riding at Okemo for just $29. Okemo Mountain Ambassadors will be accepting contributions outside the Clock Tower base lodge throughout the day. The Black River Good Neighbor Services Christmas Basket program will help distribute the donated items to needy families in time for the holidays.
The first Cares and Shares Day at Okemo took place November 26 and hundreds of food items were donated to the Black River Good Neighbors Services Christmas Basket Program.
"We want to make sure every family in the Okemo Valley has plenty to eat this holiday season," says Cares and Shares Program Coordinator Michael Steele. "This is a great way to get our guests involved in the local community and it's a great way for Okemo to play a part."
