Resort or Ski Area: Crotched Mountain Ski Area, NH
Conditions: Packed Powder to Corn, cold and windy in AM, crowded at lifts
Trip Report: Was at Crotched from 9:30 - 1:30 on Sunday. Conditions were mid-winter PP in the AM which softened up just a bit after noon when the sun was out. Complete hero snow and only a few scratchy parts. In addition, the groomers have been leaving part of several trails alone for moguls to form and many of those were in real nice shape. Toughest part of the day was that they actually had some lift lines due to a race that was going on Meteor, and the HSQ was down for about an hour or so around lunchtime. First time I ever did the singles line there.
Really enjoyed going through the Final Frontier "Glades" which they ended up taking a groomer through. Going down a trail with trees is a nice break from the straight down wide groomers.
If you live in the MA/NH flatlands and want a good place to hit over the next week then make it there. The HSQ is a quick ride to the top and hard-chargers can lap to their heart's content.
Will post pictures once I figure out if any of the ones I took are decent.
