Do you read the Sundown trip reports?

I read them all. They are helpful to me, even when there is the occasional negative post. It is a good way to judge what you are doing right and what needs to be improved.

Very glad the feedback is helpful. I would say the mogul approach this season has been just about perfect. Good model for future seasons as far as I'm concerned. Unless of course you decide to just bump up the whole friggin' place! ;)

Chris....Did you like my idea of turning GB into a manmade glacier??? Pound the hell out of it with snowmaking....We could be skiing bumps well into june...The Outer limits of Connecticut....I have a few other great ideas as well!!!!

personally I never do.....not intending to be a douche about it, but I never read them because I've never been ther so I cant relate...and I dont ever really plan on going there seeing as how for the drive I'd choose somewhere else. It is cool to see you guys take such pride in a small local hill tho.

To answer the question posed, no, I don't.

The Sundown TR for 10pm last night has 102 views while the one posted at 1 today already had 52 views, seems like quite few people are interested at them, the stats don't lie.

No, about the same percentage as trip reports for Killington. You know, the other place I ski. But more than trip reports for places I don't ski.

It just happens that there's a significant group of people on here from CT, at which point you're bound to get a bunch of TRs. I'm just surprised there aren't more for Blue.

I don't post Blue reports everyday over here but I think I'll start..I just assume hardly anybody reads them..

The only trip reports I read are the occasional ones about Whiteface. I do; however, always watch the videos when they have bump comps at Sundown.

Other then that I never read trip reports. It’s just not my thing.

personaly if the tr has pictures or a video ill click on it. still you guys have proven to me that you can do great things on a small hill. and i admire that.

Honestly, i didnt see anyone trashing the place, including Bless.

Maybe I read this differently than you:

If I was trying to be funny, there are many other ways I could make fun of a place like sundown and the obsession on these boards with it.

But I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. It's just the recent whining about too much Sundown or too much about moguls, etc., is wearing on me. Such threads are very easy to simply skip.

I'm sure there's lots of people that don't read them. I don't read a lot of the TRs from mountains that I've never been to, or don't plan on going to.
+1

For the record, most of the ones I post are so I can go back (if I feel like it) at the end of the season and re-read about those days (hence the links in my sig). I doubt anyone gives a crap about my perspective there seeing as most of you would be skiing more complex terrain. But I share it anyway. Greg encouraged me to do so when I started posting here 5 years ago as a new skier and I continue to do so today.

i didnt see that post. still, dont really matter does it?

I have 14 days this year. 10 @ sundown, 1 @ sunapee skiing one trail for 4 hours and 3 @ killington. 2 were early season when almost nothing was open and the other was a super abbreviated day cause i was slaying rams head and the magic carpet for 3 hours. does that make me a less knowledgeable or less skilled skier?

I read any trip report that has the video/photo icon. If it doesn't have one, then it has to be a mountain I'm interested in or written by cool skiers/riders. I read most of the Sundown ones, even though I've never been there. They are usually written by people that are about having fun and are passionate about the sport.

i do read them but i prefer to write to them.

Hmmm...do they write back?

Seriusly tho, I am a big fan of all ski hills, large and small. Aside from the tremendous amount of useless noise in here learning about so many diferent hills around the northeast is the best part of AZ. Wish I had more free time in the winter to check many of them out, including Sundown.

To answer the Original Post:
I tend to read most Trip Reports, even if I don't post in them.......I really like the stoke from TR's and I especially like the sense of getting to know the poster and his/her love of the place where they spend time.

TR's Rock!!!
