RU kidding????

There are WAY too many OTHER diversions besides skiing that make life interesting . While skiing is important -------Life is not a One trick Pony as far as recreational actvity or hobbies are concerned .

No but skiing is numero uno for me..there's no other activity except pounding Vag that I'd like to do over 100 days a year..

I know i'd love to get back into it but i dont want to plunk down $600 on a bike and use it 2 times.

Use the bike to go riding with the kids and wife.

We have a put and take in our town dump... plenty of sizes for kids but no bikes for adults. A few years ago, I got the cheapest hybrid bike I can find just to beat up after a 10 year lull. I go riding around the town every w/e, I told my daughter that we would go to the local ice cream shop if she can build up the legs for it.... right now she can't wait.

I agree that there are alot of other things that keep me occupied in the summer. A-#1 priority for me, outside of my family, is bringing my golf game back from the dead. Been out 5 times with 27 holes planned for this weekend. Like skiing, my golf has suffered immensely in the last 4 years with the lack of time. I desperately need new irons though. Buy a bike or buy new clubs...... that is something i keep waffling on.

Go for the bike man.....would be great to have another psycho rider on our mountain bike crew.....hell ya dont even have to buy one....JP picked his up at the dump

I feel exactly the same way except it's road biking for me. My wife and I ride with several bike clubs and alot by ourselves. Last night we did a hard 25 miles after work. We'll probably ride 50-75 miles each day this weekend. In a few weeks were going on another cycling vacation 50-80 miles/day gourmet food at night. EAT, RIDE, SLEEP there's not a better way to vacation, in the summer at least. This September we'll do at least four century events. So much to look forward to we don't miss skiing right now, but around August I usually start looking forward to the start of skking season.

Buy a bike. You already have irons and we all know it's the operator, not the equipment. ;) Knowing you, you will love mountain biking once you build some wind.

I used to mountain bike all the time in college and shortly thereafter. I know i'd love to get back into it but i dont want to plunk down $600 on a bike and use it 2 times. Golf, i know i'll play.

We'll be here to drag you out, man. ;)

Just go buy the stupid bike already. We'll see you on [thread="29845"]Sunday[/thread]. ;)

I recently moved to central Westchester County, which is close to so many great mountain biking trails. Picked up a new bike and am having a blast. Surfing, tennis and ultimate frisbee is about to begin. Having too much fun too miss skiing/riding. Of course, that will change by Sept/Oct.

The great thing about the off season is there is more potential for a variety of different sports than winter.

How'd your rounds go this weekend?

i got NO golf in. My one project, replacing my upstairs toilet, turned into the most unbelievable misadventure in plumbing and carpentry ever known to man. What i had pegged as a 2 hour job lasted 2 days.

Boogie-boarding is gonna get me through this summer. Paddling out to the waves is giving my legs a good workout and is kind on my knees. The rush of catching a wave is similar to going downhill. Later in the summer, I'm probably going to upgrade to surfing. I haven't surfed in a bit and I'm itching to brush the rust off. Waves out in Cape Cod are none to one but as any true surfer would say: "Eddie would go."

Just give me some notice and I will get my spare bike back in trail condition for you to use on an AZ crew ride. Now you have no excuse not to join use:p

7 rides in so far. I'm improving and have very little, if any ski jones so far. I hope to go into the ski season in much better shape and plan to ride right up until skiing resumes.
