I never see the ads thanks to the Ad Block Plus FF add on.

There's my answer, huh? Do you download something like this? It's like downloading an app for your phone? (Please pardon my ignorance. Thank you.)

My brothers and I sometimes play the "How odd can the ads get" game with emails, throwing odd keywords back and forth.

THAT'S awesome. I should try that...before I do what Root did. ; - )

Same here. I've only used Chrome a few times, but it was missing several features that I've come to rely on with FF using add-ons.

IE is just a big turd, IMHO. I hate crap that only works in IE.

The only thing I don't like about FF is it tends to get bogged down and start hogging resources on occasion...
Firefox was crashing more than daily on the old laptop and yeah, it's a resource hog. You know that Chrome has add-ons, right?

I like Firefox for the add ons, but I've found Chrome to be more secure.

So I do all my porn and sketchy browsing on Chrome.
I'll have to remember that...

Forecastfox became forecastbar... I'm a weather junkie. I admit it.

Forecastfox appears to be available on Chrome.

I'm trying Chrome for now. Had it crash on me already though... does not bode well. Could be Windows 7 and not Chrome. I hate computers.

No. They didn't when I first tried it (just after release). I assumed that they wouldn't have add-ons since the premise for the browser was to be light, simple, and fast... I may check it out again.

Honestly I think that one of my add-ons for FF is the cause for most of the problems that I've had with it... But it's the one that gives me the features I use everyday so I don't want to get rid of it...

Now that I've had Windows 7 running on my 2 month old tower for my home computer, I'm finding that I really like it, as it does alot of the things that I want it to do, without having to tell it NOT to do many of the things that other Vista or XP would associate and add on to what i'm doing. It's almost like in a way Microsoft is finally realizing that most users would rather tell the OS what we want to do(or don't want it to do) and adapt to us from there, rather than have the OS tell us what it wants us to do and us adapt to it from there.

Are you a PC, and was Windows 7 your idea?

I'm finding each subsequent version of Windows to be going in the opposite direction than what you say... They bury more and more basic features and settings in wizard type interfaces and other such fluff that just gets in the way of me doing what I need to do.

It takes away from potential revenue to the people who setup sites like this one...
True, but it also prevents lots of pop-up that I don't want to see.

On sites like this one, I disable abp. I want to see the ads on az (during the on-season anyway). I'm finding the Killington ads particularly ironic and humorous this week.

For me atleast and what I use my home PC for (mainly entertainment), I just really like windows 7. I want to access my pictures, boom, click on the folder icon on the bottom, i'm there. easy to get side by side viewings of them too. The "look in" feature of my open windows, love it. For what I use it for, I really like it since it's just there. Maybe some of it is that I here (and often see) the problems that my wife encounters with Vista on her laptop  Vista had some great ideas/concepts IMHO, but just couldn't execute 2/3rds of them the way that many people wanted it to. Win 7 atleast for me has some great ideas/concepts that for me atleast it CAN execute

FF blocks pop-ups natively, without any add-ons. I never get pop ups at all, even some that I want (log-in windows and the like).

I have Ad Block Plus installed, but it's always disabled. The only reason I keep it around is for the rare occasion that an ad server is causing a page to hang up, then I enable ABP and block that ad server.

I also like the K-mart ads this week, they really add to the "discussions" around here...

I enjoy Firefox for customability and add ons. I used to use Opera before Firefox. Great browser but lack of add ons since, IIRC, it is put out by a private company and not open source.

This is why I uninstalled Firefox a couple days ago. It's just terrible in that respect.
IE, on the other hand, Just Works.
