One of the best detachable lifts that I ride a lot is the Berkshire Express (6-pack) at Jiminy Peak. 5 minutes to the summit can equal a lot of vert on an uncrowded day. What are your favorite high-speeders?

Not sure if I'd call it a favorite, but the six-pack at Ragged can be pretty interesting to load and unload when you have a full set of people.

Brian Fairbanks has made many changes at Jiminy Peak over the years. IMO the best thing he did was put in that 6 pack. It has made as big a positive difference as a lift can make to the overall skiing experience at a ski resort.

Agreed. My feeling is the lift lets you get in a lot of vertical so for a small mountain, you can truly get in a big day of skiing.

My favorite is the Wildcat Express Quad at Wildcat. My second favorite is the FourRunner Quad at Stowe.

Stratton seems to have quite a many high speeders. Six six-packs (only one isn't high speed).

Add to that the so-called 12 man gondola. Maybe it can hold six comfortably, not 12...

Ragged's sixer is decent.

Needle's Eye express at K. Just because I've had so many good days on Needle's Eye and a couple other trails off that lift. And there's a little hot dog stand at the bottom that had a good deal on two chili dogs and a smokin booth girl at the bottom of it.

Mmmm.... I went back for seconds just to watch her make them.

Wait am I still typing? Ok, I'll stop now...

I have a few:

Jackson Gore Express at Okemo: 8 minute loops up the quick lift and down Quantum at 8:30 in the morning are awesome.

Nitro Express at Mt. Snow: Probably the fastest one I've been on.

Peabody Quad at Cannon: Quick and decently protected until the top. It doesn't send you over loops in the wind like Cannonball.

And best of all: THE BOYNE MOUNTAIN SIX in Michigan... J/K.

I did exactly that this past Tuesday. We hammered the "six-pack" all day!

The Cloudsplitter Gondola. It makes the coldest days of the season easier to bare. It also makes getting to the upper mountain a whole lot faster. Overall, a great lift that changed how WF skied. 2432' of vertical in seven min? not bad.

I really like shooting star 6-pack at stratton. From the time it picks you up to basically the 4th poll, its almost a straight up ride that gives you butterflies in your tum

I'd go with the TGV at Tremblant. It just seems so fast. However, I prefer the northside lifts and trails, but thats for another thread.

Edited: didn't even see Newpylong's post about the TGV until later. Yeah it's still there as of Feb 05.

Not to nit pick, but Stratton *ONLY* has 4 six packs, not 6, and then 3 fixed grips quads to go along with the Gondola, and some other fixed gripped triples, etc.

One of my personal favorite (not mentioned so far) high speeds though is the Flying Bear at Attitash, that Dopp hauls butt, and doing high speed laps on Illusion and Avenger is a blast too!
