What are your favorite ski lifts?

Mine are:

Green Mountain Flyer - Jay (yes I like the cold)
Aerial Tram - Jay
Superquad - Sugarloaf
Tomahawk Quad - Belleayre - It's never got a line.
Aerial Tramway - Cannon

Im surprised you like the SQ at the loaf because i was under the impression most loafers dont like its unreliability.....
My favorites are:
La Maillard Express at Le Massif (smoothest ride ive ever been on)
The Top Notch double at Attitash
TGV at Tremblant (somebodys had to 've experience it too... so bouncy)
Summit Express at Wildcat cause who doesnt love top to bottom high speed quads?

It might be partially because of the terrain, which I figure wasn't the idea of this thread, but the peaceful and admiring the terrain on those lifts is pretty amazing too (of course, not comparable with the skiing!). I can't really think lifts that I am more anxious to get off and ski down. Those are the lifts I dream about being on

Slide Brook at the bush is a great ride!!

Love that one, it is most definetely one of my favorites! Gives you a chance to relax, take in some great scenery and rest a bit.

Superquad @ the 'Loaf
Jordan Bowl @ the "River
Bear Mtn Superquad @ Attitash

Notice how these are all superquads taking us up to our favorite trials???

K-Mart: K-1 Gondola.
Sugarbush: Slidebrook or Summit Quad
Stowe: Forerunner, when it is running.
Stratton: Ursa. That thing hauls a$$.
Burke: Save the quad, Ride the Poma!
Jay: Jet. Old reliable when the wind howls :wink:
Middlebury: Worth Mountain Double for the ride up the cliffs!
Sunday River: White Cap or Bakah.' Jordan is a close one as well.
Cannon: Cannonball Express (awesome for yo-yo's).
Pico: Outpost.
Pats Peak: Vortex. Hauls a$$ as well.
Sunapee: North Peak Triple.
Gunstock: Summit Quad.
Loon: North Peak Express.

Phew....can't think of anymore right now!

i am a big fan of doubles. i don't think i have ever been on a double i didn't like.

I never experienced a problem with the superquad since I started skiing it in 1995. Even this April there where no apparent problems with the lift.


To add to the collection of my favorites:

Bateau T-Bar - Sugarloaf
Upper Snowdon Poma - Killington
Burma Chair and Challenger Chair at Blue Mountain - two side by side Hall double chairs
Gondola at Sugarloaf - gone but missed
Killington Peak Double - also gone
Original Killington Gondola 3 1/2 miles of fun- now there is no top to bottom gondola access.

G lift (the double that starts at midstation and goes all the way to the summit of Little Whiteface) at Whiteface is my all time favortie lift. The views on the top half of the high peaks/ lake placid are incredible.

...i don't think i have ever been on a double i didn't like...

...riding double chairs mean standing in line...anticipating the ride...it made us appreciate the lift more than now...when I'm in line for a(ny) quad-chair and hear people grumbling about waiting in line...Boo Hoo, I miss the Killington Peak Chair...

Canyon Quad and Snowdon Poma...



Of course I'm choosing from a rather limited selection.


I kinda like the lift on Attitash that crosses the old triple too. Especially if you can get the loogie to land square on the people below you.

Roca Jack lift at Portillo, Chile.

It's a 5 person poma that serves a legit 40 degree pitch. 5 people go up while the empty lift comes back down. At the top, it just stops...no unloading area or ramp. You have to figure out how to get off on a 40 degree pitch with your back facing downhill.

Very entertaining to say the least.
