I posted whether it was a bad idea to ski on Friday the 13th. It almost was, there were three cars off the road on the drive up 81. A lady in a Volvo S70 spun out right in front of me. Luckily she slid harmlessly off the road. Greek got about six inches. I spent most of my night skiing Elysian Fields. Skiers right was closed, but it skied remarkably well. There was no base, but I didn't hear or feel any rocks. I've got about 200 days on my skis, so I wasn't too worried. There were a few spots scrapped down to the dirt. I did have one mishap, since they haven't been blowing on skier's right of Stoic, there are a few water bars that were barely covered. I hit one unexpectedly, got some air, didn't quite stick the landing. I came down on my good shoulder. I tweeked my bad shoulder slightly. It wasn't a yard sale, my skis stayed on. I don't use my pole straps, so that was the only thing I had to gather up. If I had my straps on, I could have played boarder and popped up and skied away. Well ok, maybe not, hey I'm 50 and weigh 240, not much poppin going on these days. It was a lot of fun, going back up with my son this afternoon. There is a LE advisory in effect, 2 to 5" today, yeah, about friggin time!
