10" of fresh stuff will wear down the legs quick. My first lift serviced October turns. Did break in my new boots and had no issues/pain. Ive been wearing them around the house nightly for about a month. Felt like a much better skier and more more stable when I landed off lips/waterbars. Could also really pick up and stomp the top of the bumps despite being on 110 waisted skis. Amazing the difference new boots make, I was on 10 year old boots I used in middle/high school.
The October storm several years ago I was able to do that which was cool. Ski patrol seemed to look the other way.

I'm surprised they didn't spin the Snowden triple and let people walk over to NR from there

Yeah we talked about that with other hiking. Even more surprising is that you could have skied over without a problem. Hell in 3 days I haven't taken one step on the stairs up or down.

Why not have people hike to Canyon Quad? That could have been another option

After skiing all day yesterday and hiking up today due to a computer problem on the gondola my legs are shot. Tomorrow should be interesting. Hell of a workout for the first 3 days of the season.

I couldn't even imagine doing that. After skiing Friday and hiking just a few miles this weekend I can hardly go down the stairs without some serious soreness. Worked my ass off to get the legs ready too. All the hiking, squats, and wall sits in the world just do not have the same effect as skiing.

Put in October turns for the first time on Saturday... Was bummed about the hard drive failure but it still felt amazing to get out there

I can barely walk today...the natural snow on Sun was like wet cement...my legs were so tired I couldn't even turn in it...I pretty much just bombed it.
