Winter was not only here but it was here in force this week!! Near 24" inches or more totals. It was a mixed bag of precipitation "3" times with (Snow, Sleet & RRrrr) but It finally "Snowed" coast to coast multiple times throughout the week. Here are some of the fully open mountains in North America and a tasting of what is considered open terrain with Trail counts this point in the season "week 11" around North America. These are considered lift serviced trails at some of the open ski mountains on Sunday 1/14/24(Happy MLK weekend!!). Hike to your delight for more trail fun.

Loon is skiing great! 2-3” from the squalls and these people are afraid of anything fresh so I’m lapping smooth untouched lines on side of trails off the groomer path. Surprisingly no lines. It’s 930 and I’ve skied 13k!

This weekend ended up being fucking awesome

River storm day
Loaf surprisingly great including trees
Loon squall pow

No skiing at the moment in most of Utah. I bailed at PC just now..severe winds..everything on hold for a while..
And yet they just keep piling in..

Gotta imagine the Canyon roads are a mess as well.

Mary Jane side of Winter Park is completely on hold. Not sure if its a wind issue or not. US 40 over Berthoud Pass is shut down as well.

Roads and Surrounding areas might be like Alta's roads and cant be in the greatest shape

This led Alta Central, the Public Safety, Road and Interlodge information for the Town of Alta, to announce that they were "moving towards Maximum Security Interlodge restrictions" for the town of Alta on the 14th (don't worry, it was reduced later in the day).
What does Interlodge mean, you might ask?
According to the Canyon Services Alta and Snowbird, Interlodge refers to "the limit placed on residents and guests when inside town limits (or Snowbird properties) with regard to traveling between lodges, homes and resorts. In other words, you cannot travel between them." Furthermore, Interlodge restrictions are "requirements for all individuals to remain indoors either because of avalanche threat or due to avalanche mitigation effort activity."
