Winters approach is coming faster for some then others but here comes a decent weather system. So the real Snowflakes are now coming and the possibility for full man made snow guns will go from not to much to full bore out West. Looking forward to our first real storms here till then in Vermont and the Northeast

Late 10/22 – 10/23: 1st Cold Front delivers snow to ID, WY, MT, Banff.

10/24-10/26: 2nd Cold Front delivers snow to PNW, ID, MT, WY, UT, Northern CA.

10/27-10/29: 3rd Cold Front delivers snow to CA, Southern ID, Southern MT, UT, WY, CO.

Looks like the North East wont get even nighttime Snowmaking temperatures till the end of October and the first week of November

A minute from the Alta exit off the I-15!
We are going to be in good shape here in Utah with 1-2 feet and many many hours of temps in the teens and low 20s all before the end of the month. Upper elevations already have the start of their seasonal snowpack established from a couple of early storms.

Don’t worry I’ll be there in a month with a persistent high pressure ridge

Break out the Snow shovels and the Ski & Snowboard equipment as The approaching Snow train is making a soon to be stop at a Mountain resort near you out West. With the largest winter storm of the season thus far is forecasted to dig into the Western US this week, bringing major snowfall to Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana.

Yesterday morning, October 23rd, Stowe Mountain Resort, Vermont, announced that it had received its first snowfall of the winter season. Here's a look featuring a photo taken by Scott Braaten. Just a tease as its most likely gone this week lol

Idaho Resort Revels In Season's First Storm- "The Snow Is Here!"

Forecasts Predict "Slight Chance" For First "any" Snowstorm To Hit The East Coast Nov 1

Who Will Get Snow This Winter If There Is A Strong El Nino?

Hey look at which regions of the country will get the most snowfall this winter based on a strong El Niño that is predicted by NOAA.
  1. The Northeast: In the Northeast, the forecast is less definitive. NOAA suggests an equal chance of experiencing average snowfall, leaving open the possibility of a polar vortex bringing abundant powder to New England, or a return to the “Ice Coast” reputation. Skiers in the Northeast will have to remain patient and adaptable as the season progresses.

Nothing worse then early season snow out west followed by high pressure and warming. Good old shit layer to cause chaos for rest of season.

East coast will have some places open by next weekend. Probably more then one

The Snow is on the ground or peaking out just about everywhere in the country now. Each new weather system will bring the possibilities of new Snow as long as our temperatures come down regularly. Till then may the Temperatures be cold and the Snow guns be plentiful : )

  • Arapahoe Basin – 14
  • Aspen Snowmass – 17
  • Beaver Creek – 17
  • Breckenridge – 16
  • Copper Mountain – 15
  • Crested Butte – 13
  • Keystone – 15
  • Loveland – 16
  • Monarch Mountain -12
  • Silverton – 10
  • Steamboat – 8
  • Telluride – 8
  • Vail – 19
  • Winter Park – 16

Utah Ski Resort Begins Full-Scale Snowmaking Effort

*side note*Some temps look a tad too Warm for most the Northeast through the next 2 weeks. Hopefully mountain elevation can push some marginal lower temperatures into freezing temps for Real snow and Snow guns.

Well Cold and dry would technically be much worse for developing a shit pack. Jus sayin. It’s the cold air that rots, but it’s still plenty cold on those upper north faces so rot it shall.

Maybe and Possibly some snow in the Northeast's forecast instead of the wetter stuff because every "SNOWFLAKE" matters. Real or man-made
