We won't let some Groundhog in PA decide when Winter is over. We know that the Winter fun has only just begun!

So, to usher in the beginning of the rest of Winter, we’re having our own Groundhog Day celebration...

Come to Stowe Mountain Resort on Wednesday, February 2nd, and you can enjoy both Mount Mansfield and Spruce Peak for just $20*!

And the first 500 people get a free Stowe Card - Letting them continue to save the rest of the season. There will also be a number of special Groundhog Day deals around the mountain that day.

Right now, the forecast looks good for that day - with snow showers and temps in the upper 20's. We hope you can join us to celebrate the rest of winter!

For more info on our Groundhog Day Celebration, call 800-253-4SKI

I agree just send the info to Greg about a promotion, he posts it and it gets put in the correct place. (News) Then it easier for non poster to find it on a google search. More people will see it also.

I'm just surprised to read that Stowe is offering a discount from their major league-priced lift ticket! :D

Actually, if you buy multi-day tickets ahead of time you can get some pretty good deals off the Stowe website. And they offer some add-ins like ski demos, lessons for children, lessons, etc. depending on the package you buy. We recently bought 4-day passes for $45/day and signed up for 4 1.5 hour group lessons. There are options other than group lessons. As I recall we had to buy them 72 hours in advance and there are a few blackout dates (but only a few). The problem is the tickets are not refundable -- get sick, hurt, or the weather goes into the tank your stuck with them. We thought it was a pretty good deal, especially if you don't eat the incredibly mediocre but $$$$ food in the cafeteria.

They were off with pass sales this year pre season, then the rain before christmass and the lack of snow.

Any bets this will be a mob scene Wednesday? Stowe offers so little in the way of discounts and freebees that word will get out quickly.

Maybe Stowe is finally realizing that their high rates are preventing many skiers from coming. They were the first to start ratcheting up the prices to take advantage of the down-country folk at the expense of the locals.

Maybe Stratton should learn from this.

But are either of these areas hurting for skier visits? They charge big because they can.

By the way, I never ski the same place two days in a row, so those multi-day Stowe rates don't help me.

When it's good here you could spend many days exploring, but when it's groomers only this place is really not that interesting. JMO. How many times can you go 100mph down perry merril and gondi. ??? 90 seconds of skiing for a 6 min. lift ride.
