so you are paying more money to ski a mountain of lesser quality? guess you showed them... a little bit of insight behind your cryptic post might belay puzzled replies as i surely can't make sense of going to kmart instead of da bush.

How do you like that, Sugarbush?
you are retarded....

On second thought you are right k-mart is way better. Sugarbush sucks.

edit: on second thought with castlerock closed it is looking a little worse, but still better than k-mart. Still a lot of other fun stuff. This kinda amazes me though after all the natural snow. Its funny how wildcat, saddleback, and sugarloaf have gotten pretty much no snow in months but still have a bunch of natural snow trails open but sugarbush doesn't. I really don't understand how they could of lost so much snow.

Isn't the R word supposed to be blessing us with it's presence. I want to go upstate but it doesn't look good. And i would be willing to deal with drizzle but not what they are predicting.

lost much so much snow? they never had much snow. base depths this year have been miserable, even for the few areas that actually got some shots of natural snow here and there such as the northern greens. the snow from last weekend did nothing, it was blower that mostly ended up in the woods and never settled to form a base, so last week's excellent conditions was a mere abnormality hick up and now we are back to normal. we certainly could use just one more helping to keep things going until the end of march, but i suspect we are about to witness a race to see who can close first.

Make the best of it, Zand. That's all you can do. I remember being a teen and having lots of heart attacks when the weather was bad for skiing.

That said, this season has been very abnormal. I remember skiing at Burke when they blew some snow that was only a BASE. We got enough natural so that the worst thing that would happen was you'd ski down to a base of firm machine made. This season it has been like skiing on the machinemade base ALL season with no real snow on top. That does hurt.

Had a final setback last night... I got sick. No skiing this weekend for me. Next weekend, I'll be at Smuggs. With the chance of a big Nor'Easter this Friday, it's looking good.

Now I'm really glad I didn't go... Castlerock, Heaven's Gate, and North Lynx are all closed. It's supposed to stay cold for a while after Tuesday, so they should reopen at some point.

Sugsrbush has decided to open Heaven's Gate and North Lynx tomorrow.

Unbelieveable.

Some of that may be weather dependent remember. With rain and winds in the forecast, no surprise that it was closed today. There could have been a T-storm warning like there was a few days before a visit I made in 2000  T-Storms in ski season...grreeattt.

thats pretty funny.

back to the topic: I have no faith in Nor' Easters, its all about the lake effect this year!
Bring it on lake effect and get your orographic lift on too, I have you to thank for many pow days this year. Jay Cloud Rules!

yea, meat has a good point that the nor'easter track has not favored northern new england this year. not much blocking and the storms were moving off the cape favoring the southern new england states. orographic lift has definitely delivered the only major snow in new england this year outside of the freak early season snow storms. a nice alberta clipper would be nice too.

thanks for the humor andyzee
