Hate to be the bearer of more bad news

Unfortunately, as was also the case when I went out to Utah shortly after the refereneced 2005 big avalanche and fatality in the story in that same location, I guess I'll be seeing another fracture line and slide debris area when looking South off the top of 9990 at The Canyons in a few days :(

Had no beacon, no gear at all..area was so unstable they couldn't get a snow mobile in there...

Such a tempting area for an average skier there - get off the top of the 9990 HSQ, go about 30 -40 feet to the left and bam your at the avi control area gate just staring at probably close to 50 acres of open, nicely pitched ridgeline feeding into a run out that for most lines takes you back to the 9990 lift again
