Hey Guys,
Trying to decide what makes more sense here. I can likely take either day off work and have a place to stay tonight or tomorrow night near both mtns.
Cost=not a concern...discounts to both and who cares abt $$ on a powder day

Logistics-Leaving tnight makes slightly more sense for my family/clearing the snow tomorrow night. If I do Magic on Fri I wont be home until Sat night as I have a work race at Loon on Sat and would be heading straight from VT. So I dont know that I want a foot of snow to fall and then bail on the wife for the rest of the wknd---snow could get really compacted and tough to move after Sat's rain.

Work: Friday would be a tad easier to take off

Terrain: Both are great, trying to think if Magic would get too tracked out tomorrow despite getting more snow

Snow: Magic appears to be more in the jackpot.

let's hear your thoughts! sorry to over analyze this, i know both will be great just need to consider all the variables in play.

any thoughts?

All I know is Magic won't get tracked out in 1 day. Takes a while for that to happen assuming they get the goods. I'm hitting Magic Friday for sure

if you can't do both i'd do SB because (note - i am one of the least qualified people on this forum to give an opinion here)

SB had a great base already, i'd think the 8" they get vs 12" @ magic would result in better conditions on a larger mountain that as great terrain.

i however will be having fun @ Magic on Friday.

The base and size of mtns is a good consideration for sure. Forecasted gusty winds as well...with a dry snow and tracks running over it all day on Thurs I wonder how steeper trails like Magician, Red/Black Line and Goniff hold out?

Starting to lean towards SB

Goniff and Black Line will hold up fine as will Slide. red line may get a little rough come friday but don;t forget about the woods:)

I'm dying here. I was at magic all last week for the vacation. I'm trying to figure out how to get out of work and get up there but I don't see it happening:sadwalk:

I'm a sugarbush homer so I would ordinarily say to go there, but I think friday will be the better day to ski than thursday. so go to magic.

I made my decision---heading to Sugarbush tonight----prob going to do the all mtn ticket as Heavens Gate and Castlerock chairs should be sweet. Have fun out there everyone and thanks for the advice!

Good decision. See you on the mountain. The conditions have been great, and today's snowfall will make it even sweeter.

I really don't think you could have gone wrong with either choice... Enjoy!

Heading up tomorrow night to be at Magic for first chair on Friday morning. This will be my first time at Magic. Can't wait! Let it snow! :snow: 4 inches at the base as of 5pm.

No doubt, can't go wrong.

I swapped Friday for Saturday at work so I'll also be in line at the Red Chair at 8:45 Friday AM!
