Did a tune on 3 sets of skis today, got me wondering how well your sticks are holding up.
You can tell a lot about where someone goes and how much they care from their skis by looking at the bases What about yours?

My wife's ski bases look brand new. They literally needed a wax and that was it.

The GS cruisers had a little base wear, but they haven't gotten much air time this year.

The midfats were in the woods a lot. Wwww, they looked it, but not as bad as I had feared. A couple encounters with Mr. Granite Rock left a couple souveniers on the edges. Last year's carnage on the base finds the ptext fix beginning to pull out. All and all, not so bad.

My Rossi Scratches were a mess with multiple coreshots and I had them repaired, stoneground, waxed and sharpened and they are like new. AtomicSkier just waxed and sharpened my Elans and my fat skis have a core shot from Jackson Hole..but otherwise the bases are good and they were only waxed when I had my binders mounted a month ago..

My Dyanstar Legends look descent, some gouges in the Ptex but the edges look good. My k2 Crossfires are a different story, deep gouges, one nasty core shot, and the edges aren't too pretty. I don't have the $ to bring them to the shop yet so I'll just keep skiing the Legends.

i have been pretty lax this season about filling gouges on my everyday ride. my t6 has only been on snow 5 or 6 days so its base is perfect. my powder board is fine and my race board is always perfect. i think im going to have them do a grind and structure at the hill tomorrow and ill reset my bevels and wax when i get home.

My skis are nice and smooth now, the were really scratched up. I had them tuned a week ago and have skiied on them a bunch of times since then but I guess I haven't hit any rocky spots since.

Pretty good shape. Some minor scratches(non p-tex/base weld worthy), no core shots, edges nice and smooth with my preferred 1* base/3* side bevel - Only 1 day on the latest wax job

Very good shape, all three have been tuned in the past three weeks. Mid-fats have two days on the tune, *bump* skis one day and though they were unbearable slow, I think it was a case of cold snow wax just not handling right on the very wet warm snow. Danny P had issues on the same snow that day with his board.

I even got my Olympic tune done on my powder boards. No, not in anticipation for a competition, by Olympic, I mean once every four years

I have a season tune at a local ski shop. They have a skid laser, a wet grinder, and an edge machine. They do base welds when they're needed. Everything I own is just fine.

My skiing has been rather tame this season. My bases reflect that. My B5's and M11's are fine. (They could use some wax, but every ski can use some wax.) My Big Stix have a couple minor scratches from meeting with topographical treats, but not anything drastic. The Powderbirds haven't been off the rack yet :-{(
