One weather report calls for "West wind between 13 and 15 mph" for Cannon on Sat.
It sounds pretty strong.

How bad is this?
Any chance of wind hold?
Will the snow be blown off the slopes, or are slopes well protected from wind at Cannon?

Can't speak for Cannon but the threshold for a wind closure on the HSQ's at my local mountain is 35 mph. 13-15 shouldn't be too bad. If it was summer I would tell you thats a good sailing breeze.

I asked the tram operator at cannon the operational threshold - he indicated 50 mph. not really for operational reasons but more safety - being started getting bounced around pretty good inside the tram.

13-15=gentle breeze at cannon

No problems. If they are filling the tram cars up wind affects the bump way less. I kind of like the bump

Tram can run in very high winds. As can gondolas. I was at Cannon when the wind was about 60mph out of the north and nothing was on hold but people were being blown Round on the Tram deck. 13-15 is a typical day at Cannon. The front five are sheltered from a west wind. Taft will have it in your face. Should be a good day to go.

As others have said, a 15mph breeze at Cannon is a calm day. The top of the mountain is always getting blasted. The Cannonball, Peabody and Zoomer chairs are all pretty low to the ground. I have literally had to skate downhill into the wind at times and been knocked over by the wind there and the lifts continued to run.
