I'm sure we all have our "trigger" letting us know it's time to get ready for snow/skiing. For me it's when our bowling league play starts, which by the way starts TOMORROW, so it's time to get winterized, blow the dust off the skis/ski bag and get ready. You????

Once the leaves start changing...and the days get shorter.

I'm looking forward to pulling out all the gear and giving everything a once over. I should probably install those boot heaters I bought a few months back...

Once we enter pretty much the worst weather month of the year in the Northeast.....mid-October to mid-November.

My jones to get out on the slopes is rivaled by my desire to get beyond that typical month of weather in the 40's-50's that is often rainy and dreary.

When seemingly stable people start acting like asshats on internet skiing message boards.

When I have to turn the heat on. That probably won't be for another month or so but you never know at this time of year.

I was just looking at my boot heaters yesterday and was thinking to myself that I should really get to installing them (and take pics of the process for a TR).

For me, it's when we start taking a look at our current project load, and how many maintenance windows we have left until the end of the year (we have week long maintenance blackouts around each holiday). We then plan what we can reasonably get done and what needs to be re-prioritized into next year. I'll also add in that the impending fate of "Final Exams" starts becoming closer.

When I start reading Trip Reports of people hiking for turns up North!

That always pisses me off that they're skiing not all that far away, and I can't possibly swing it. Well it makes me jealous at least. I'm usually jonesing pretty bad by then.

I wasn't talking about anyone in particular, do you have someone in mind?

Just speaking in general terms over the past few days. Seems to me the majority have stepped away then there are some peeps who like to bring it up---just sayin

I think you're reading too much into it. It was a general statement about what happens on this board every year. People start jonesing for snow and it gets the best of them. I'm sorry if my statement was taken in another way.

LOL! I'll do a TR as well! I'm so excited to get those installed. Looking forward to warm feet this year. Not that my feet froze last year...it would just be nice to have them stay "comfortable" on those cold days.
