I just have little respect for skiers who live in the East who don't care to ski in the east and also skiers who live in PA..but will only ski in VT and out west..something can be said about supporting the local mountains and not getting jaded..

Get over yourself. After all the nonsense and gibberish you've managed to put on these threads you have no room criticize anyone.

Respect is one of the many things you've failed to show (along with class) so far, notwithstanding how many posts you've made.

Yes, I am a snob also, I won't ski anywhere besides Northern Vermont or the occasional trip out west. My home mountain Jay is 5 hours from my house, it is almost 300 miles from our driveway on the Cape to the driveway in Montgomery. I drive it almost every Friday and Sunday all winter. I do tend to take a lot of vacay time that time of year and long weekends. It all depends on how/where you want to ski. The lift accessible mountains in New Hampshire, MA, CT, RI etc.. don't have anything that I am interested in. If I want to ski bumps, cruisers all day sure maybe that would be acceptable but I don't. I can't say anything about Maine because I have not visited there.

I'm just so itchy to ski and can't wait for the weekend..so I need the afterwork night skiing fix...groomers to me aren't the best but it means going fast which is fun..

And Big Vert is the biggest tool on AlpineZone..

"I sell tombstones for a living. During ski season ..when I get out at 3-4:00PM..I drive directly to Blue mountain for a 3-4 hour evening session..then have a late dinner and post about my skiing on PASR..It's easy to get to 100+ days when you ski everyday and I use my vacation time for ski trips..

Sells tombstones then counts 3-4 hours at Blue Mtn towards a "100 day season".

It's easy to see why everyone else is considered a snob when this is your "lifestyle". :puke:

Man, talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Just take a look back at the first few posts you made in this very thread, ironically.

What a moron.

Me thinks big_vert needs to lighten up a little...

Ummmm, maybe because "ski days" are typically more than 3-4 hours, particularly as you like to point out ad neaseum that you go all day with lunch on the lift etc, etc.

How many hours (or runs) does it take for you to count it as a day? 1 run or 2 hours? Apparently 3 hours makes the grade, why not 1? How many days do you count 6-8 hours as?

Why not count just putting your boots on - you could have a day right now - or 100 before the season even starts! Run up and down the stairs to pad your vertical number too!

I count my 3-4 hour night sessions at Sundown as a ski day. Life with two little ones at home is pretty busy so I gotta take what I can get. Some nights hitting the Nor'easter bumps for 15-18 runs feel like more of a ski day than some of my 6+ hour day trips.

You're a pretty intense dude, eh, big_vert? You should really try to find a way to chill. Yikes.

I can't post virtually anything around without this clown chasing in some fashion - but apparently since he's breathed "life" in your forum it's OK.

Cool - enjoy your steeze- you deserve it.

When I hike up a mountain and ski one run it counts as one day...when I ski 8 hours open to close eating only jerky and snow it counts as one day. If if you step into your binders and ski a run or 50..it counts as a day of skiing because you skied that day....Everyday skiing counts....

Why are you so rude and pompous..just because you make a ton of money and have a 54 inch HDTV and just about only ski out west doesn't make you special...be modest..

What Happened Too Page 12 ? I Cant Get It To Appear, Any One Else.

Page 12 was fine for me...

I've had a home mountain...most of my skiing career..it's cool to have a place that's your spot...where you have a pass and know lots of others. I had a pass at Blue mountain the past three seasons and my last two years in high school and the other years I had a pass in VT or MT. Alot of days when I thought it would be a crazy downpour..it turned into drizzle at worst..and sometimes sunshine and sweet corn. It's cool seeing all the familiar faces in the line-up every Saturday and Sunday at 7:29AM..then a mad dash to the six-pack..

As for skiing at home...I've been toying with the idea of skiing from the 3rd floor of my building right down to the laundry room..I'm going to count it as a day...haha..For that descent I won't even need my ski tote..

Anytime you boot up, gear up and get on the hill it counts as a day in my book...one run or 75,000 vert...there's no magical point at which a trip to the hill can count as a day. Some days are longer than others, some days are better than others...all are better than a day at work...especially when the market drops 250 points eh BV.
