Thread hijack:

Anyone riden/skied Pali at A-basin? How does it compare to, say, Avalanche at Cannon or upper Sugarloaf?

I would say the main face is a little steeper, but much much longer of a pitch. The trees and alleys on the side are quite a bit steeper I would guess.

3D maps color coded by steepness. Sorry no SnowBasin

Been posted before but still gives a cool visual for comparing a resort's stepness. Doesn't have every resort but it has a bunch.

There is always confusion about degrees and percent, even the commentators for world cup skiing get it wrong. The top of the Grizzly downhill run at Snowbasin is 38 degrees..and I don't know too many runs round these parts that compare...

Just skied the top of the Snowbasin downhill and while it was steep and intimidating, it skied/felt less steep than Ripcord at Mt. Snow, for what it's worth. But maybe that's because the downhill wasn't even close to the steepest thing we skied that day.
