Good ride today. No one got hurt or lost. The hike-a-bike kinda sucked, but was worth it. More to come later.

Showing off your new fancy phone-posting abilities? ;)

Can't wait to hear more! No injuries or getting lost sounds good to me! Enjoy the tail-gaiting. Told you the hike-a-bike was rough! ;)

We rode a bit under 3 hours finishing up right before 6 pm. I bid farewell to the tailgaters so I could get home and help get the kiddos down. Fun ride. A lot different than I'm used. The hike-a-bike was interesting. We sessioned on the rocks up by the castle a little bit. I actually flatted out up there somehow so that slowed down the ride a bit. The descent from the castle was fun. Mostly rocky doubletrack with a few narrower section. We crossed the powerlines a few times. Some of the ride was reminiscent of the West Hartford Rez. Towards the end of the ride, we found a nice stretch of singletrack, but it looked like it headed back up to the castle so we turned back. All in all, a fun ride and a nice change of pace.

Did you or Jeff use the GPS? I'm curious how it fares compared to when I went.

Definitely a different place. But very interesting.

Felt good to finally get back out riding and on my own bike too. Was kinda dragging worst than usual having not ridden for almost 2 week, I am sure I will feel it in the legs tomorrow. Great riding with everyone again and thanks for the food and beverage!

BTW, I patched my tube and the cut was a single 1/4" slice right on the tread side. Glass probably. I might pull that wheel off and inspect the inside of that tire better. Nothing noticeable on the outside of the tire.

BTW, for those that are interested; After the ride I took JP's BB apart to see what is up with it. The bearings are indeed shot. I left it apart so that he'll have no choice but to actually get it fixed. ;) He claims he's going to fix the headset too, which hopefully he actually does before he damages that frame.

Ha! It's a solid frame. Hopefully, he actually gets it fixed. It would be fine for him for a while...

I'm glad I finally made it out for this ride. As I said, the hike-a-bike kinda sucked, but the rest of the ride was pretty good and made up for it. The views at the castle and the cliff under the power lines was pretty cool. The riding itself was fun with a lot of rock gardens. Like Greg said, parts really reminded me of the Rez. Only a few large mud puddles, otherwise things were pretty dry.
