Hey,

I went to Hunter yesterday and the condiitions/skiing we pretty much perfect.

However, the quad pretty much died or atleast had a seizure around 2:00. I was about half-way up when it stopped for 5 minutes. Then whe it re-started we were going up so slowly that the lift that services Broadway/7th Ave. was blowing by us.

I love hunter but it is time for them to get a new lift for the main face. How sweet would it be to have a nice high speed 6-pack at Hunter!!

I heard that it went down. Hope they revive it before 12/14.

A high speed 6-pack would be sweet for Hunter and would eliminate some of the long lines...When was the last time Hunter installed a new lift? Early 90s???

With the same terrain, does hunter need more uphill capacity? As it is, the slopes are already pretty crowded. With a 50% increase in base to summit capacity, a crowded day will be even more of a zoo on the slopes.

The two fixed-grip quads (b and c) were installed in 1996.

Hunter needs a new HSQ, a 6-pack would be terrible, way too much capacity. I'd expect to see that, and at least the beginning of the West Side Expansion in the next few years....

I agree that a six-pack doesn't seem necessary. Bummer that the quad keeps breaking down this year though. I hope that it's working good for the 14th!

I agree with the folks that say the 6 pack would be a bad idea. I would hate to see them put one in!

When the Hunter HSQ was first built you had the HSQ, the very old A lift double, and F lift, transporting customers to the top of Hunter Mountain. This does not include the Hunter West lifts. This resulted in a very dense number of customers trying to ski and ride off the top of the mountain without hitting each other. Solution was to get rid of the old A-lift double that was located on skiers right of the HSQ. Given that experience I doubt Hunter will replace the HSQ with a 6 Pack.

hunter is like a zoo with a high speed quad, a six-pack would be ridiculous. i think they should worry more about west and that is it.

Motor in the Quad blew even though it was rebuilt this past summer.

The patient was removed to the motor hospital and the hope is it will be fixed and put back into place by the end of the week.

Not sure if that means it will be ready by the 14th.

I hope it's ready for the 14th! Doesn't sound all that promising though... :(

Really should not matter too much on the 14th, a weekday.

But it was a bit of a pain yesterday because it made for decent waits at F lift even though it was not too crowded.

It's gotta make it tough to do top to bottom laps, I'd imagine. Maybe that's not a big deal... I've never ridden the F lift though, so that would be pretty cool...

The only advanced trail that's open that you'll miss off of F lift is Ike.

Now that you put it that way maybe it's a good thing. My legs might last a little longer without having to ski all the way to the base every time... ;)
