What trail is that they are blowing snow on. I've never been to hunter because of the "crowds" -I choose to go to belleayre normally. However the terrain seems pretty good over there at hunter and I'd like to get over there on like a weekday this winter. How are the crowds then?

AFAIK That's Hellgate in the picture.

I can't speak for the 'crowds' at Hunter since I've only been once so far. That one time was mid-week and there were NO crowds at all...

the first few days will be crowded... I suggest waiting for Bellayre to open...

Doug or Jim can confirm, but I believe they open the "mainline" first. Hellgate>Broadway>Eisenhower. That's how it was on their 2nd day last year iirc. They may have had gunhill open as well.

I usually only go to Hunter mid-week when it's pretty much empty, but the West Side and the F lift usually stay fairly uncrowded all the time, from my experience. Hopefully Belt will be open as well next week.

Judging from that photo they weren't on for long.

They were on for a while - it was just too warm to make snow lower then they did.. There's proabably a ton of snow at the top now..
