I ski there almost every week and I live about two hours forty minutes away..I would have to drive 4 hours at least to hit Mt Snow, not worth it. I use the place like a gym..gets me ready for my westward treks...

I have a friend that owns one of the A-frames near the base of Hunter. A group of us have been getting together for a weekend for at least the past dozen years. I haven't even bothered bringing my ski's with me the past 2 years. I have no intention of ever skiing there again.

Okay, I'll bite...... why not?

I was there yesterday afternoon 12-4pm.

Plenty of coverage. They had made snow HBK and conditions there were primo all day long.

Everywhere else was firm hardpack, but the sun made runs like Upper Xover and Lower K pretty good.
Bump course on 42nd OK too. Once the sun went in at about 2:30pm I stayed on the mainline until end of day. Right sides Racer's and Ike were sweet down to 6pack. Clairs groomed hardpack and OK too.

There is a good looking 48hour snowmaking window coming up next week, I think they will make one more good snowmaking push into Pres weekend and then that's it.

Like every year.

who goes to a ski resort and intentionally leaves their gear at home?
someone who's more interested in partying I guess, but some of us can do both
yesterday was consecutive day #75, you can do the happy hour math ...
yes, Hunter is definitely not for everyone, but it certainly works for me and many others as well ...
it is we who thank you for keeping your partying off of the trails

Love you ESKI, I gave up trying to defend Hunter a long time ago. We got what we got and we love it.

never, ever, in all of my life, have I skied somewhere and said to myself that I would never ski there again ... sure some places are better than others for whatever the reasons, but an opportunity for a true skier/rider to make turns is one they just don't pass on :daffy:

I have.

Mountain Creek. Will never PAY to ski there again.
skied there once on a Monday while traveling to Philly, it was a week before they closed and I had a free ticket ... it was empty and I thought it was cool for a local hill, especially if you like rails and such ... spent a handful of hours there before moving on down the road ... as I said, any opportunity to make some turns works in my world :spin:

just so glad that I'm not as jaded as others ... no matter the size of the mountain nor the conditions, I'd still rather be on the snow than not, wherever that may be

I'm not jaded at Hunter, its a great experience for sure, my job gives me enough personal time to take off mid week so trip to hunter in March when crowds are away on weekend is what I like.
