Spent my first day on my new Magnum's with set base and edge bevels today. I demoed this pair for about 3 days last season and found them a great all-mountain, all condition ski. Espcially good in crud/powder and off piste areas. weakness in turn initiation and thus short turns. I am planning on these becoming my daily boards with the race skiis seeing limited time.

FAT? You mean barely even a midfat anymore...its a helluva ski, but even here in the east you've gotta get past 90 before you should be droppin the f-word...and even then they're still closer to the mid fattish side. the 8.7 still has a pretty tight turn radius too, "fat" skis are straighter. But you're getting closer to the dark side...keep on coming, you'll like it here...now try out something closer to 100mm...they're a blast to haul big ass gs turns on and plenty of them can rail on a groomer...it feels like the big old trucky gs race skis...207-210cm, thick core profiles, and a big leaf spring sort of ride.

I agree with ECPH, last year the 8.7 was my "narrow" ski.

Good get tree_skier, need something for au-natural conditions. Saw that ski at SR today, once I did...instantly got the feeling my 00' Vertigo G3s are indeed dinosaurs....

Nice choice! It's a really fun ski for sure. I've been out cruising on my 8.1's and loving em'. Blizzard is back for sure with some great skis.
