So yesterday was the end of year party for my shop. We all went up to Jiminey were we met up with the reps from all of our ski and board companies. For skis we had Atomic, K2, Line, Rossi, and Vokle.

Since I tore my ACL back in January I offered to run the store we have at Jiminey while their staff got to ski. By lunch I was tired of having all of the staff having a awesome time, so I grabbed my gear and decided to take it easy.

I put on a real strong knee brace and headed for the demo's. First ski I grabbed was the new K2 Extreme. It is the replacement for the Public Enemy. I was not that happy with it, was chattering pretty bad on me, even skiing very easy(It was VERY icy and hard pack out though). Also skied a Line Prophet 90 that I did like. held nice on the hard pack and skied much narrower than a 90mm ski. I could ski it any day including the conditions we had.

After about hour my knee was getting sore so I quit before hurting myself more.

back in the shop I needed to do a tuneup on some skis, and managed to get them so sharp I sliced my finger open. Hope he was happy with the tune.

So I went to the hospital and got 3 stitches and a tetanus. Was the cut payback for the fun of skiing????

No wonder I haven't heard from you. Too bad about the knee. Cool you skied and got a fix. Good luck with the surgery. Got all your life to ski! But.....as you get older, you will discover there is nothing more important than skiing............but right now fix the knee.

Huh, 1year and 1 day after I did.

I got back on the slopes on Dec. 15th.

What kind of graft? (I forget, was your a partial tear, or full rupture?)

I am pretty sure it was full tear, but not 100% sure. They are taking a piece of one of my leg muscles to repair it or something.

Did Jiminy have a lot of snow left? Last year they went at least one or 2 weekends past the southern vt. areas. I'm hoping to get an early-mid april day in there.

I only skied on the Blues as I was taking it easy, but every trail that i went on was full cover from side to side. It was pretty icy though, but I am assuming most places are like that right now.

Rossi has a "Classic" line comeing out, that everyone who demoed them really liked.
Vokle has some new skis in the AC series. Think it is called the AC50 Unlimited, which seemed really popular.
Atomic has a ski coming out in the future(not next year) that we have a prototype of. It is a split ski. Their is a rubber material that connects the two halves of the ski, and a big burly plate under foot right under your foot holding it together. The theory from the Atomic rep is that as you push it harder and harder into the turns it allows the ski to flex more and more. Changing the ski radius from like 18m down to 13m I think. I have not used the ski, but the few of us that have taken it out were skeptical of it. It looks very fragile, and we were told to not push it too hard because it is still a prototype. We are told that ski is 2-3 years out. If I make it back up to the Jiminey shop i will take some pics.

I didn't really look at the gear too much as I would have liked because I was working away from the tents. The K2's were mostly just graphics, but they did look nice.

Atomic is really kinda getting out there with their design. Those boots that have the flexible sole just don't seem right. Is that ski split lengthwise or under foot? A pic would be cool, cause I'm having a hard time picturing it.

It is length wise. As for the boot you speak of one of our girls has a pair and loves them. They are the only Atomic boots I have ever really looked at. I will try and draw a quick pic of the ski.
