Do you know DMC and ESki? Let's all try to meet up. We'll have our radios tuned to the KZone channel...

Yup, but I got no radio. I'll be free after 9:30 after I drop my sons off for their seasonal programs. We can determine a meeting place in the next few days.

Sounds like 10 AM is a good candidate. Thats what we do at K every weekend...

Maybe meeting shortly after he drops off his kids might be a better idea.

Where should we meet you? We are not familiar with the area so please pick a location we can easily identify. Thanks.

I won't be there that early...I'm assuming you guys will be in a group after 8:15. Can you all meet up with me at D lift at 9:30?

That sounds like a plan. We will be at D lift at 9:30 or shortly thereafter.

Thanks JimG and DMC for taking me down K-27. I kind of freaked out when I had a little trouble with the skis and had to readjust. Went into defensive mode but I did make it down eventually. I should have stayed on the left side where DMC went instead of venturing into the middle. I should have done it one more time just so that I could have skied that good line on the left. Too bad it was so cold or I might have lasted a little longer before having to take a break.

Did it!

It sort of reminded me of East Fall (lower K27). Fell twice on big ice bumps. Then I discovered that the left side was the place to be - pow.

Got to meet JimG but had to go inside immediately because the kids were freezing. It was a cold day.

You guys did great.... Lower K27 is steep and the bumps are crazy... No real "zipper lines"..

The snow definately drifted on skiers left.. Some really deep in the troughs. You just had to negitiate the entrance and get over there ASAP to start enjoying it...

The whole day was great..!!

The whole weekend was great!

I barely got damp on Saturday because it just didn't rain that much, at least until 3:00pm when I quit; then it poured!

Sunday was unexpectedly awesome...the 5-6" of snow that fell after the rain was superb. The left side of lower K27 was great through the morning. Best run was the first with DMC and Tyrolean skier, but lower K held up for 3 more runs after that one. Snowmaking was going full bore! Skidork and Ty, it was nice to meet you guys and ski a little, but the cold made it tough for your kids and my schedule made it hard to stay together. Let's try again soon!

Monday was spectacular...sunny and cold, the amounts of snow blown overnight were ridiculous. Upper Crossover was the place to be...great snow, nice lines forming everywhere. Must have skiied it a dozen times in the morning alone!

Went to Thunder Ridge on Tuesday afternoon/night just for kicks. Snow was good there too.

Too bad the rain yesterday soaked everything again.

What do you think Monday will be like. I'm getting antsy, need to ski some more. Are they making any snow?

Things are fast and solid right now...alot has been groomed flat, bumps are mostly solid ice. There has been a little snowmaking since Monday, but not much. Won't see more until Sunday the earliest.

Sounds like I missed a good day. Was that west side open? What dynastars, cause I love mine.

You've seen my Dynastar Candides; those are what I skied on all day when we met up.

Sunday was indeed good. K27 was alot more fun than the day you were up, but the fresh snow eventually got pushed aside and the icy bumps reappeared. The West side was groomed flat and was all hardpack with occasional boilerplate. There was alot of snowmaking going on.

When's your next visit?

Sometimes I wish they would groom the west side flat more often. Just can't get that ice mogul thing down that well. I think Clairs and Westway are two of the hardest runs I have ever skied, Anapurna too. When they are flat they are still good and manageable. I'll jump into some crazy stuff out west but have to think twice about those runs when they are nasty. Hope Monday is good.
