I need your input. How fast do you ski or board?

Despite my online "handle," I really couldn't care less how fast I might be clocked at. I am sure my speed is on the slow side more than the fast side. Of course this makes my handle a total misnomer - I was creatively challenged when I signed up here!

I'll confess. Overall, I am a slow and controlled skier with lots of fluid motion and rhythm. It's about enjoying the whole experience and not rushing through it for me

I rarely see much point in figure-11'ing, but I prefer to ski fast enough to keep my skis working, and I'm quite happy to ski Really Fast when I get the chance.

I've never actually been clocked (the one time my coaches had a radar gun out, I didn't make it to that point on the course...figures), but my understanding is that it's rather difficult to approach 60 MPH without appropriate clothing (i.e. a speed suit), and it's rather scary to do so without appropriate skis (i.e. super-G or DH boards). Skiing at DH speeds is kinda like driving at 100 MPH on Route 2 (not that I'm ever done that, of course) -- if you aren't looking as far ahead as you can see and thinking further ahead, you're going to have a very, very interesting time of it. Add terrain to that (a small roll is a lot more significant at 60+ than you might think), and it's a whole different ballgame.
