These types of maps can be great “at a glance” tools to decide if you want to go somewhere, can your group/family handle the available terrain, how does one mountain compare to others.
I’m very familiar with Stratton’s, and have been looking at all of the other ikon New England mountains. Most of them are horrible, as some people here have noted, some are a little better than horrible, and Stratton has the best, cleanest, most useful “at a glance” interactive map.
I’m trying to convince a few people to get in on a Kill or SB trip before the end of the year and other than Stratton’s, these maps don’t help.
