In the singles line? I was a UVM student in the late 90s myself, though admittedly mainly skied midweek.

Lots more folks over on Spruce these days then back in the late 90s

skied Stowe twice this winter on Saturdays. Never waited more than 5 minutes in the singles line on the Gondola, never more than 10 at the Quad.

We are spoiled cuz If we get lines over 5 minutes at Cannon we piss and moan that it looks like around here.Last Saturday I had to wait in the Zoomer line about 8 minutes and that seemed like and hour.

The last 2 years I've been there, singles lines at the gondi at the time the OP asked about were easily over 10 minutes. Quad may have been a touch less, but was still pushing 7-8. I only ride singles lines when there is a crowd, so, to me, anything over 5 minutes is "long" (for singles).

I know that people who ride the regular lines think 10 minutes is no biggy.

That is a really long time for Zoomer. Cannon may be the most well known major mountain with the shortest lines.

@ Killington:

Longest (10 minutes):

Skye Peak Quad
K-1

Shortest (virtually ski right on, unless some lifts are down, exceptionally busy, etc):

Canyon Quad
North Ridge Triple
South Ridge Triple
Bear Quad
Needles Eye Quad
Snowdon Triple
(you get the drift.....)

Everything else tends to be around 3-5 minutes.

Sticking to the Catskills:

Longest - any of the main chairs at the "major" areas are a good match for each other

Shortest - anything at Plattekill or the Y chair at Hunter West; sometimes the triple on Yahoo at Belleayre but that can really vary

Worst days this year were my first time at Blue Mtn PA a few weeks ago (people said it was unusually crowded), Belleayre once over the Xmas/New Years time and Sugarbush on MLK weekend when a main lift broke then ran at half speed most of the day (Castlerock was strangely empty so I stayed there and put some "structure" into my bases)

Blue gets pretty terrible lines, and there is no where to "hide", the best bet is the C double chair (not beginner side).
