A good IT person (and there seem to be plenty of IT gapers) should really be able to craft a nice ski/work arrangement, especially if that person has minimal family obligations.
Ski from opening lift till noon each day and then go to work till 8 or so. Your personal goal should be to make sure nothing goes wrong while you're skiing. Otherwise they'll put out an APB for you on the mountain and ruin your life.
