Was thinking going to Gore, but decided to that another time. Money tight and weather not looking good next weekend so I had to get out. Went to sleep on Saturday night and actually feel to sleep. Drove to Elk in 1 hour and 45 minutes, I and my car like this. Bought a morning 830-1230 ticket for $45. Grooming their is quite good. I love the nice beautiful trees its like big Christmas trees all over the hill. Not crowed for a weekend s.and some nice steeps pitches on their black runs. Some nice natural under their 2 double chairs by the lodge. That was a great run and enjoyed 10 times. Yes the chairs are not the fastest but I like that. Went and did some turns off the peak by the parking lot, also nice. After lunch I kept skiing because no one looked at the time on my ticket. Sun came out for good in the afternoon which was my first time skiing with the sun this winter. Nice not to cold out all. Around 4 pm they started looking at the time on the ticket but never said anything so I wrapped up around 415, took the shuttle bus to my car drove home. Not Elk fault but construction on 81 south by Scranton is insane, I think they have been doing that for 10 years now. Overall is as steep as platty no but more variety and nice easy drive an hour less 4 day out first with sleep.:)

Are they 100% open? I hit Elk at least once a year, last year four times. They had more snow last year than Greek Peak, even though they're 60 miles South. I hope to hit one of their discount days this month.

When I went yes, it was all open, but getting to that point when I left that they need more snow, but great day. a little icy towards the end. Snowed a little bit to which is always great.
