Evidence that it doesn’t please.

That will be up to Jay to defend that it doesn’t against the US government.

It’s pretty basic accounting that if your goal is a certain amount of revenue then you would need to raise prices in USD to offset the 30% discount.

I'm sure the US government is very concerned about a single ski resort in Vermont that accepts CAD at par... (only for transactions made via cash or check which already likely reduces the amount of people paying that way a decent amount).

This is such a silly and asinine argument...

It also confirms that this trade practice does increase the cost for Americans and if the federal government chooses to start investigating unfair trade practices Jay would not be able to defend the practice and stay solvent at the same time. They would need to just cease giving Canadians a 30% discount.
Come on. This is not the crime of the century. A significant amount of their business is Canadian. It used to be owned by a Canadian company. I doubt that you even ski Jay Peak. Let it go.

LOL, you said “this trade practice does increase the cost for Americans” … it is up to you, not me, to provide evidence to back up your claim.

Why do you think the Jay Peak management offers the at par policy ? It’s because they think it will make them the most money - the increased volume of Canadians looking for a bargain, and their ancillary spending, will be enough to offset the discount. And if they make the most money they can from Canadians, then Americans will be contributing the lowest possible percentage, which is what you want, right ?

Unless raising the price for Canadians would result in a greater than 30% drop in Canadian traffic, thereby leaving you with less total revenue in the end.

Nope- lifts down-when we left Tramside-State full at 9- all except Taxi down-shuttle to State from T-side 120 people w one or two 20 person shuttles.

Every employee was like Sargent Schultz.
This sat in outbox yesterday- did they provide any solutions? Line for refunds was long- we purchased the 4 days at $307 ( tax included) and they told us Sat would be 'free'

Not sure 3 of us would have purchased since yesterday was $69

Sat was free for 4 pack holders if you picked up the extra voucher at the ski school desk.

End of day, employees were still Schultzing. The shuttle drivers had no idea that Jet was closed at 3 and that is why their shuttles were full.

From the chatter I overheard, people took it in stride. They expected the F show and appreciated what runs they did get in.

Yeah, that‘s the correct attitude. Expect all manner of nonsense before Thanksgiving and be grateful for what goes right 🤣.

my friend who's a local spent four hours there and didn't get a single run in.
We saw upon arriving fromMRV at 9:20 families w kids in ski boots WALKING from Tram Area headed to Stateside. When we stopped to ask they said 'shuttle line was over an hour- crap-that walk had to be an hour a little kids/ saw no less than 20 people doing that.
We made right call to turn around and head out.
