Did it once, the year it opened in the early/mid 80's when I was skiing with my parents/brother. That was an hour plus of pure family torture on many levels

the juggernaut headwall was pretty scary ...

once was enough. took some beginner to show her the wonders of skiing. not fun but it actually was good for her.

i did it once top to bottom when it had good snow, surface was fast and some incline too it. it was fun but then again I am on skis so a little cross country doesn;t bother me.

did it again on another day with some snowboarders in tow and they all regretted it.....the snow was too soft and certain spots were almost up hill.....

i did it once from the Top of K Peak through the Bear lot, and down to Route 4 when the old Gondola was there. I also did it from the Peak and onto Juggernaut Too to the base of Sunrise.

The surface was groomed not long ago so it wasnt that bad, but only worth it once, lol. Other similar runs are Solitude, and also the Sunrise Trail that used to go down to the Northeast Passage base - equally flat.

I'm almost to the bottom of it. Only 15 more minutes of skating and pushing with my poles and I will be to the bottom.

Been there done that, never again.

Brings back memories. :D

My wife wanted to start the day by skiing Juggernaut after a Saturday night snow at Killington, maybe 5 inches or so new snow on it. So we started. It was pretty much cross country skiing. Then, we started seeing animal tracks, mostly small but also some big ones. The trail alltogether is around 9 miles. So, we got tired and bored and a little scared and wanted out. So, we turned on the Sassafras trail. Juggernaut had a track, which we could ski on and get some speed. The problem was Sassafras had no tracks at all and about twice the amount of new snow. And the animal tracks got bigger, fresher and more frequent. We got really scared. Skiing was very difficult because of flatness and all the snow. I was skiing in the front, and I have never been more tired. Finally, we made it to civilization. It was awful, though.

I like to do it once every other time I hit Kmart... usually to eat lunch in the woods and burn one. Impossible if snowboarders are in the group.

I think the first time I did it I thought I would end up in a parking lot in Bridgewater. I always love how sometimes it goes from skied / boarded, to a few tracks, to single track, to boot prints, and then untouched snow.

In all these years of skiing Killington, I've never done the thing top to bottom.

I've ridden my mountain bike up it a couple of times. Does that count?

I did it, on purpose!

I knew it would be slow and some uphills, judging from the angle of the other "more direct" trails near it. So I wasn't too surprised that it was (slow and almost uphill). The tricky part was I wasn't sure at times if I was on trail or not!

It's very mental. I can skate, not great at it. Though since I expected it, it was alright. I even "enjoy" the hard work! ;-) (and the "solitude")

Good thing I also enjoy x-c skiing, though usually not on alpine boots. ;-)

No way I would venture on that trail on a snowboard or skis! I've been on it many times on my mountain bike though. Great for that. Used to be a good part of the bike trail system when they used to have the Skyeship gondola running years ago for biking and you could ride down to route 4. I've seen people get on it with snowshoes and cross country skis several times over the last several years...

Heres a tip...The "glades" off J-nut are no good. I ventured in there a few years ago:dunce: and became religious. I've never been so happy to find a flat groomed trail as that day.
