I have been saying all along I thought they would beat K, just thought it would a couple weeks later. I wonder if Sugarbush being open with $10 dollar tickets will effect K even more. Let those who deserve the props get them.

$10 tickets? Wow. That's amazing. SB is doing a great job to make customers happy.

In preparation for the skiing portion of The BodeFest Ski and Golf Challenge we made a little more snow this morning. Don’t worry folks, with the temperatures the way they have been lately, we hope to ski for another week.

So... BRETTONWOODS will beat KILLINGTON this year.

It'll be interesting to see what their new owners do in terms of maintaining the late season skiing. I like that someone is making an effort to stay open late season. I'm glad to see some competition in this era of consolidation.

I'm also curious to see if they keep Bode on as "Resident Figurehead" after all the negative publicity over the last twelve months.

Anybody who knows anything about skiing knows that most of the bad press on Bode is a bunch of bull, anybody who knows him aslo knows otherwise. Bode grew up at BW and Cannon, and is pretty well known at these resorts. The olympics were only a few races out of a very long world cup season, and only a few people can win in the olympics, by getting lucky and skiing a tenth of a seond faster.

BTW, I find Bodes far out comments to the press pretty entertaining, especialy that whole bit about skiing wasted  He could probably keep his mouth shut, but I doubt he will, he is just Bode Freaking Miller and he will just do what he wants. :flag:

The whole thing about BW staying open into the spring is great, I really think resorts should should try to make it as late as possible rather than closing on a fixed date.

The 10 dollar tickets at SB are a great deal, although I should point out that they often do that for the last weekend of the season. 10 Bucks even just for Rim Run, Elbow, and F.I.S is a steal because just that terrain is better than alot of small resorts that charge much more for a regular ticket.

one interesting thing to note is that BW isn't exactly staying open much later than they have the past few years. in recent history, they have been second to kmart for a few years now in new england. though it seems like they are staying open longer because kmart is closing sooner.

Well, he may have raced at BW, but he is a Cannon native. Two different animals. Some think that his role at BW as of late has been a sell-out, but you've got to go where the money is when you need to pay the bills I guess.

BW made snow again Sat am. I saw the Cannon style gun on the side of the lift Sunday.

Bretton Woods just seems to be trying to open early and close late. I think staying open later than K is just something that is happening along the way. They are talking another week plus. Closing right around the last years closing date it seems. I was happy with the skiing there one Sunday.

Perhaps but they have laid claim to the longest season in NH and have definitely used that for its marketing value.

Possibly a nice transition. Brettonwoods has had the longest season in NH for a few years know. A couple of years ago Waterville opened the high country lift ahead of Brettonwoods and Wildcat make the Oct opening this year.
Closing late has been Brettonwoods trophy all along. Know they will have the latest closing in the east. No matter what the reason its good for us all.
