I don't think this update has been posted on AZ yet. If it has, my apologies.

From killington.com, updated today at 8am:
Killington Resort will be open for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Forecasted colder temperatures will allow us to start making snow this weekend and into Monday afternoon. Snow is also on the forecast for Sunday!

This is great news. K-mart going for it means that other resorts will try to keep up. It looks like November 24 is going to be the start of the ski season....

Yes, that has effectively pushed the season from early this coming week to Black Friday. Good close reading there....I did not see "Holiday Weekend" as before it just said "the Thanksgiving Holiday."

Bad news that it has been delayed that much....but they are mowing lawns right now in my neighborhood. IN NORTHERN VERMONT!

Oh my gawd, what a bunch of pessimists! To me Thanksgiving holiday weekend means Thanksgiving. I still say they'll be open by Tuesday at the latest.:snow:

opening weekend AND thanksgiving crowds together. This might be something straight out of a Mad Max movie.

Anyway, who's up for the midweek after that? I having a standing day off to go skiing after the fiasco from the 10th.

dont get me wrong, i'm absolutely thrilled that the season looks like it'll finally start but at the same time, i'm sorta relieved i cant ski that weekend. I dont have to make that decision, it's been made for me.

I heard my neighbor's tractor last night...crazy.

In any case, I saw the following link on the Killington web site...looks like this year's opening date will be the latest in at least 20 years.

Well, if you look at it as if there is a certain amount of snow that is going to fall in a given year, then the longer it delays before it starts, the more it has to snow for the remainder of the year.

SHUSH!! It makes me feel better!!

Well, heres hoping!!

I'll be there this weekend.

I wonder how many we can salvage from the first gathering that fell through. I think we should try to reorganize for this weekend.

I am guessing that you mean Thanksgiving Weekend? I would love to go, but I am closing on the sale of my house on the 27th.
