Well now heres a touchy subject:) Its has the word killington in it and the word bowl. This should turn out interesting. ;-)

Ive been browsing around websites and id like to know your what you think on killington backcountry and the fabeled "bowls" that lie atop the real summit above the gondola. Or what happens when you dare stray passed coopers cabin. Thoughts?

* I am not asking where these are so dont take it the wrong way:)

There's some decent/good skiing (I've only been back there a little bit, and hiked back, so someone else can answer.) However, once past Coopers in that direction, you cannot ski around and get back to the mountain. That means, you are either hiking back the way you just came from, or you are going to be skiing/walking all the way to Wheelerville road, assuming you can find it. I would not suggest trying the second option. (Look at google earth and you'll see why).

The problem with skiing the Bucklin Trail down to Wheelerville Road is that the last 2 miles is flatter'n a pancake. Unless you have AT gear, it's really painful to get back to civilization. It's also not all that steep off the west face of Killington. You have 1000+ vertical feet of nice intermediate terrain. It's enjoyable but it's not exactly going to get your pulse going.
