I simply can't understand what type of "marketing" is going to magically bring in enough traffic to change the ROI that every single ski area in the East has calculated over the past however many years. How many people who have already pulled out the golf clubs are going to flock north if they hear that "xyz resort is still open". The answer is likely not enough the move the needle.
The kind of marketing that only Josh apparently knows about. He's a ski mogul along with that guy Bob Katz. ;)

Josh,
I have to agree with DHS. No amount of marketing will away the masses that have moved onto to other life aspects by the spring. Add in the increasing potential weather will be wet not white on weekends, yes the snow is soft but that means in very short order smooth groomed trails turn bumpy which much of the skiing public doesn't enjoy, how does marketing overcome those realities? And to say Sugarloaf has never tried marketing the late season is absolutely absurd. They marketed heavily as King of Spring, even putting a 👑 on the peak logo for several years. It never really took off.
Adding to your point that Sugarloaf also promotes one of the bigger spring “special events” with Reggaefest in mid-April. Which is a criteria point that was brought up.

Please tell me they're not building out the new villages. Can I get into a crystal condo? What are they going for a 1 and 2 bedroom with direct access for pets and others.

CAHT BOT
how much for a condo at killington ski area

It seems like I can’t do more browsing right now. Please try again later. If you're looking to get current pricing on condos at the Killington Ski Area, I recommend checking real estate listings on popular platforms such as Zillow, Realtor.com, or local Killington real estate agencies for the most up-to-date information.

Hmm

Yes superstar tomorrow and maybe canyon lift and skyship
From yesterday’s newsletter:

We also anticipate being able to open Canyon Quad and Skyeship Gondola Stage II over the weekend, so there is no shortage of terrain for all ability levels, with the possibility of up 65 open trails.

Oddly enough even Big Snow does much better business in the winter. Indoor or outdoor, it seems like most people have it set in their heads that skiing is to only be enjoyed during the winter months.
This is the real tell that no amount of marketing will change Spring skiing patterns in ways that Joshua fantasizes about.

Unless Killington starts to use tarps in the spring. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. This would work and wouldn't take more than a couple of people and a tarp. How do you keep the tarp on the slope?

Nice, very aggressive roll out.

How hard would it be to set up downloading on Stage 1? There’s been winters they’ve struggled to get snow made all the way to Rte 100 by Christmas.

It's route 4 not 100. They could do it but no one would likely want to do that if there is parking elsewhere they can ski down to. They could try it one year and see how popular it is but likely not worth it.

especially since stage 2 can pretty much be served by bear parking as long as they can get a route down to skye peak quad

Recent Facebook update just says Snowshed and Superstar tomorrow, no Skyeship (yet). Which may be just as well because it will keep Needles, Vertigo, Stitchline, etc in better shape.

Technically it's 4 and 100 at that point.
