I think Watervilleโ€™s (which IMO legitimately does suck) has the mandatory bar drop also. Not sure I dig that trend.

The bars of yesteryear did absolutely nothing for a small child under 5yo. I say that without hyperbole. I almost lost a kid early on ski teaching with the bar down near the top of a lift. I'll never forget this boy's face looking at me wide-eyed when he realized (after I grabbed him) what would have happened.

The old style bar is not coming back the way liability is in this industry. More kid-proofing and more automation.
