Easily repairable for unbroken turns for Fri/Sat. Things may be dicey if they want to actually make it to Monday with the temps Sunday/Monday... but it's looked far far worse on closing weekend before. The following weekend is 100% out of the picture even if they are selling tix and I would give the chance of reopening for 6/1 at <25%.

As for Mont Saint Sauveur - let them have it if they want it. They've done that before and it was far more mud and walking than skiing.
MSS looked great on Monday. I think they'll make it fine, big reserve pile of snow, just one narrow sectionScreenshot_20230525-151517.pngScreenshot_20230525-111903.png. But 4 plus hours for 600 vertical, no thanks.

The "official" word from K at the moment:

This may be the last weekend for skiing and riding. We still have tons of snow to work with, but we'll have to reassess whether or not we can make it to June following Memorial Day.

Pretty impressive what some grooming can do. Looked like crap 48 hours ago. Maybe they can pull off June 3-4 but the blowtorch is coming.

Impressive, yes. But this is also Day 1 of a 4 day ski weekend with temps that will be well into the 70s the next few days (plus sunny skies). I'm sure it will look vastly different each day from here on out.

Fun morning. 15 quick laps and out of there at about noon time. Good cover ttb, but hard to tell how long it will last before new breaks in the snow form. big bumps were building up quickly on the head wall, but it was a mixed bag the rest of the way with some world cup ice and spread out bumps. Worth the trip. Screenshot_20230526-143043.pngScreenshot_20230526-111543.pngScreenshot_20230526-143104.png

Tonight's snow report says "this is the last weekend of the season". Going to reassess for June 1st. My early guesses they'll go for it with lots of walking.
I don't think I've ever done a "closing day" at Killington when "lots of walking" was not required. Killington knows what their spring customer base wants and consistently provides it. I'll bet on June 1, although Memorial Day will be my last of this season.

It looks like it held up remarkably well today. Makes me wonder if they really spread it thin to get the best out of this weekend, or if the base is better than it looks which may get us to June 4th.

The current report now says either Thursday the first or Saturday June 3rd for a final day, if the snow lasts, with $25 lift tickets.

May 29, 2023 - Monday (Memorial Day) - Day 151
I took a few photos, but nothing different than photos already posted.

All the naysayers who suggested that Killington hadn't made enough snow and would not make the 3rd weekend in May were proven wrong. It was T2B. I was told by a regular that Killington has a device that tells the groomer's driver how deep the snow is at any location and they were able to harvest large amounts of snow in places they never would have before.

I'd estimate the crowd at more than 500 people. There was a steady, albeit short, liftline all day and Superstar was crowded.

If Killington wanted to do so, they could easily be open next weekend. Closing day at Killington usually involves substantial walking and riding the lift with skis-off. However, I suspect that Thursday, June 1, will be closing day given the weekend forecast.

My biggest complaint:
I called the Killington information number on Saturday to find out when opening time would be on Monday. While Mondays are usually 9 AM, Holiday hours are 8 AM. The information line operator confirmed that it was 8 AM. I, along with many others, were waiting in a sea of black flies at the base of the lift waiting until 9 AM.

As it turned out, the nights were nearly all in the 30s and 40s, providing quite the gift to Killington. The fact of the matter is they did not make as much snow there as past years due to making more elsewhere (fine by me).

This is one of those things I am more than happy to have been wrong about.

Next weekend by no means would be a layup. By the end of the day yesterday the Tower 5 and 3 breaks were already in full force and getting worse by the hour. The snow above for repairs will dwindle quick.

I suspect they could do it, but the walking would be substantial even by June standards. Not worth it if you can nail 6/1 without walking and be done.

The surface between the moguls is pretty much skiing on soft ice. This stuff doesn't melt fast even with the weather currently forecast. If they do only 6/1, it will likely still be T2B skiing. Most of the late season regulars want at least one day of rappelling the headwall and turfing in a few places.

That snow sat feature now being used by more and more resorts, can really be a game changer as there is no more guessing as to roughly how much snow is in any given spot a groomer equipped with it passes over. It is also changing how, where, and how much snow a resort makes in particular places on trails as they use the snow depth info, combined with historcail knowledge of where certain sections of trails melt out faster than others. Some of that added new knowledge may make it look like at times to the regulars that they aren't making as much snow, as they are now better able to utilize what snow they have made with the help of the cats pushing it around in places, more efficiently. Obviously Superstar is in it's own world with what the late season goals for that trail are, but this techology can help most any resort make snow and use snow more efficiently than before.

There was an article I read recently that said that one of the snow sat equipped cats out a Mammoth a few weeks ago up near the summit where some serious drifting in had occured over this huge season out there near a top of a bowl was registering a settled snow depth of over 700"!
